Playfield Atlas is a reference publication about the dimensions and markings of playing surfaces. It asks nothing of the people who read it: no account, no sign-up, no form to complete before a page will open. This page explains the small amount of data that still passes through the site, who holds it, and how to reach the publisher about it.
Who publishes this site
Playfield Atlas is published independently. It is not operated by, funded by, or acting for a federation, a league, a manufacturer or a contractor. The publisher can be reached by email at contact at playfieldatlas dot com. The address is written out in words rather than as a link, to limit automated harvesting. The contact page explains what to include in a message, and the corrections page describes how a reported error is handled.
What this site collects
Nothing that identifies a reader is requested anywhere on the site. There is no registration, no profile and no personalization. The table below lists the features that commonly collect data on a publication of this kind, and their state here today.
| Feature | State on this site today |
|---|---|
| Reader accounts or logins | None. There is nothing to register for. |
| Newsletter or mailing list | None. No email address is requested. |
| Comment threads | None published. |
| Analytics | Google Analytics, run through Site Kit, in aggregate to see which guides are read. No cross-site profile is built from it. |
| Advertising | Not running yet. If introduced, it would be Google-served advertising; no affiliate links are used. |
| Contact | Email only, to the address given above. |
If you write to the publisher, the message and the address it came from sit in a mailbox like any other email. That is a choice you make by writing, and it is the only way this site receives anything personal beyond the analytics described above.
Server logs kept by the host
The site runs on shared hosting operated by o2switch, in France. Like any web server, it records the requests it answers: the IP address the request came from, the date and time, the page or file requested, the browser’s user agent string and the response code. These records exist so that the server can be secured and problems can be traced. They are not used to build a profile of a reader, are not combined with any other source, and are not sold or shared for marketing. They are held by the host and rotated on the host’s own schedule; this site does not extend that retention or copy the logs anywhere else.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep WordPress and the LiteSpeed page cache working. A cookie may also be set when the publisher signs in to the administration area, which applies to the publisher and not to readers. Beyond that, a consent banner asks before any non-essential cookie is set, including analytics, and your choice is recorded and changeable at any time through that banner. The full list of cookies and their purpose is in the cookie policy.
Non-essential cookies, including analytics, are only set after you consent through the cookie banner.
If advertising is added later
Analytics was added in September 2026, as described above. Advertising could be added next. If it is, this page is updated before the script goes live, so that the description here matches what actually runs. Consent is requested before any non-essential cookie is set, refusing will not close off any page, and the choice is changeable later through the cookie banner. Anything that affects what you see in a page is also described on the advertising disclosure page.
Content and links from other sites
Guides link out to the rule documents they cite, so that a figure can be checked at its source. Following one of those links takes you to a site run by someone else, under its own privacy terms, and this policy stops at the edge of playfieldatlas.com. The public pages here do not embed third-party video players, social widgets or comment services today.
How long anything is kept
Server logs are kept for as long as the host’s rotation holds them. An email you send is kept for as long as it is useful to answer it, and, where it reported an error, to keep a record of why a figure on the site was changed. You can ask for your message to be deleted at any time. Analytics data is kept only in aggregate form as configured in Google Analytics.
Your rights
The site is hosted in France and read across Europe, so the General Data Protection Regulation applies. It gives you the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to have its use restricted, and to object to that use. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.
To exercise any of these, write to contact at playfieldatlas dot com and say what you are asking for. In practice the only personal data connected to this site is an email you have sent, aggregate analytics, and the request records held by the host, so most requests are answered quickly and in plain terms.
Changes to this policy
This page carries a last-updated date at the top. It is the date the text was last checked against what the site actually does. If the date has moved since you last read it, something on the site changed: a tool was installed, a tool was removed, or a description here was found to be imprecise. Nothing is added quietly and described afterwards.
