Tennis court area and clearance calculator
The calculator is embedded in the tennis guide rather than hosted on a page of its own, so the figures it uses stay in view alongside the result. You choose a court size. It returns the playing area inside the lines, the run-off allowance around them, and the total footprint the two add up to. Every result is given in both unit systems.
It is a calculator, not a source. The dimensions it starts from are the ones listed in the guide’s Key measurements block, where each figure carries its scope, its status as an official rule, a recommendation or a calculation, and a link to the primary official source. If a figure is revised, the guide is corrected first and the calculator follows it.

The rule every tool follows
A calculator that produces a confident number from an unstated assumption is worse than no calculator at all. Three constraints apply to every tool on this site, the one that exists and the ones that do not yet.
- Every result is derived from a published figure that is itself sourced. Nothing is invented to fill a gap, and no house dimension is quietly substituted where a governing body has not published one.
- Every tool shows the input it used. If it reports a footprint, the court size and the run-off it applied are on screen next to the answer, so the arithmetic can be repeated by hand.
- Status is carried through. Where a figure is a recommendation rather than a rule, the result that depends on it is described the same way, in the guide the tool sits in.
These tools are planning aids for reading a rule book against a piece of ground. They are not construction documents, and this site gives no engineering, legal or professional advice.
If a tool returns a figure you believe is wrong, the fastest fix is to say so. Reports go to the corrections page, which lists what has been changed and when.
